Research

His research has helped establish the concept of the hormone-dependent sexual differentiation of the structure and function of the brain. The mammalian brain appears to be inherently feminine, or perhaps neuter, and must be exposed to testicular hormones during development to attain the masculine traits characteristic of the male of a species.
