Subject: a special fund for teaching improvement

Dear Neurobiology Faculty,

I am pleased to announce the creation of a "fund for teaching improvement" in the Department.

The fund will provide small awards (up to $1,000) for training that would improve teaching efficiency.

This can include (but is not limited to) courses in PowerPoint or slide preparation, voice and diction training, accent reduction, for example.

Applications consist of a one-page justification and one page budget and can be sent to me at any time.

Funds can be used for courses outside UCLA or special training within UCLA. Various mechanisms of funding may be needed depending of the provider and Fred Hughes will review the compliance of any request with UCLA rules and regulations.

Please let me know if you have any question regarding this new program. I hope that you will not hesitate to apply for these funds.

With best wishes,

Marie-Francoise
