Funds are available to bring prospective post-doctoral applicants to visit UCLA Neurobiology laboratories and meet the UCLA neuroscience community. Expenses for up to $1,000 per trip will be reimbursed for up to 5 prospective fellows a year. Travel must originate in the US. Allowable expenses include coach-economy airfare and ground travel reimbursement as per University guidelines, 1-2 nights accommodation, and up to $200 entertainment expenses within the guidelines of the University. Prospective applicants are expected to give a talk open to the Department and the UCLA neuroscience community during their visit.

Applications will be reviewed by the Chair as they come in. Preference will be given to junior faculty. Proof of funding to support the prospective applicant will be required.


Applications will consist of:

1) A letter of nomination from the prospective mentor indicating:

- Applicant's qualifications
- Prospective dates of employment
- Prospective funding mechanism

2) The Applicant's CV and two letters of recommendation.


Reimbursement will be based on original receipts provided within 3 months of the trip.
