Charles H.
"Tom" Sawyer
1915-2006
UCLA Faculty
Center
October 20,
2006
As you know our colleague and friend Charles "Tom"
Sawyer passed away at the end of June. His family, colleagues, students and
friends will pay tribute and memorialize Tom on October 20, 2006. A
characteristic of Tom's personality and a hallmark of his long and illustrious
career was his intellectual curiosity. Thus, to honor him we at UCLA have
organized a day in which the most exciting research in neural control of
ovulation will be presented, followed by a tribute from Tom's colleagues,
former students and family.
After the symposium we plan to
hold a memorial tribute. This will
be followed by a personal memorial
dinner (for those who have RSVP'd for dinner) for Tom's family and
friends.
The
Sawyer Memorial Symposium will be held on October 20, 2006 at 1:00 pm in the
California Room, UCLA Faculty Center.
